Of course I am partial to these classic portraits of my baby girl, she is my princess. We did this studio classic-styled session two years ago when she was still a pre-teen (tween). This year, the bell tolled and here we are at the gates to adulthood, a bonafide teenager. I really can’t believe I’m saying that – I mean, I know we all get here at some point – but you really do somehow believe your children will always… be children.

The lessons we learn here, as parents, can be difficult. However, the beautiful cycle of life shows us that all our stages are ever-growing and changing and how amazing it is to have a classic portrait to remind her and I both the fragility and beauty that it is to be a young girl in this world.

May we uplift all of our daughters to be both strong and fragile. To both appreciate everything it is to be her, protect that, and face the world with the power of her heart.

And may we, as parents, help protect that too.
